Friday Picks for Friday Dicks – It’s Friday Bitches
As international pop sensation, Rebecca Black says, “you gotta get down on Friday!”. If that’s not enough to make you throw some money around just remember, “tomorrow is Saturday and Sunday comes after that.” Pure lyrical genius. So, in honor of Rebecca Black’s musical career, skip dinner with the wife and throw that money down on some picks. You’ll thank me later when you’re rollin’ in dough.
Puck Picks of the Day
Buffalo (+140) @ Florida (L)
Who’s going to be in net for Florida today? Nationally recognized racist, Timmy Thomas? Or are the Panthers going to throw once-upon-a-time NHL allstar Roberto Luongo between the pipes? Either way, the Panthers aren’t going to win. The difference between these two teams, the way I see it, is simple; The Sabers are a garbage team that tries hard and battles because they have dedicated fans and a rich history. The Panthers are a garbage team that has a VIP room at a club booked for after the game and a tee time booked for tomorrow morning. It’s South Florida, what do you expect. Expect Buffalo to go down there and come away with a shitty 2-1 or 3-1 win.
Sugar’s Pick: Buffalo +140
New Jersey @ Detroit (-130) (WINNER!)
Last night I picked the Avs to win in Hockeytown and they did. It was a much closer game than I expected. The Wings battled and gave Colorado a game that could have gone either way. The Wings just played the Devils a few days ago and lost a game in which they were leading 2-1 in the third period. I fully expect Babcock to have his team ready to roll at home against Jersey. The Wings desperately need points. And I mean DESPERATELY. New Jersey is not as talented as Detroit. This is a game Detroit should win on paper and needs to win to keep playoff hopes alive. Expect the Wings to roll on the Devils.
Sugar’s Pick: Detroit -130
New York Rangers (-120) @ Carolina (WINNER!)
New York added St. Louis( 29-32-61) to their roster this week. He’s older but he has managed to score 29 goals this season thus far. The Ranger’s thought they needed an offensive boost so they went big and traded their captain to get it. Look for the Rangers to head into Carolina and go to work. Carolina has continued to drop further out of the wild card race while the Rangers are getting ready for playoffs.
Sugar’s Pick: Rangers -120
