Let’s start this pick with a disclaimer; SLU might possibly roll into Amherst and just absolutely dismantle the Minutemen. This is a definite possibility.  However, allow me to lay out why I believe UMASS wins this game.  There are THREE reasons I believe the Minutemen win this game by 3+ points; REASON NUMERO UNO – UMASS has lost ONE home game this season.  REASON NUMERO DOS – SLU heads into this game riding a 3 game losing streak. (2 at home, 1 away). REASON NUMERO TRES – UMASS’s and SLU’s records are only 2 games different from each other’s in conference play (one game different overall).  I believe UMASS is an underrated team.  They take on St. Louis tonight at home.  It’s not every day the Minutemen get to host a ranked opponent.  Look for UMASS to go to work and not let this opportunity on the national stage slip from their fingers.  UMASS ROLLS.

Mercer @ Florida Gulf Coast (P) (L)

I took FGCU a couple weeks ago against the odds and won big time.  I hope all the masses of readers I have attracted got in on that.  I’m telling you guys; don’t fuck with Florida Gulf Coast at home.  They still have not lost a home conference game.  Tonight the stakes are high. Both schools enter this game with a 14-4 conference record; good enough to give them a tie for first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference.  History will be written tonight and the tie will be broken.  I have to stick with my boys down there on the Gulf Coast.  Look for FGCU to ROLL tonight on Mercer once again at home.

Sugar’s Pick: Florida Gulf Coast -2

Michigan State (+3.5) @ Ohio State (WINNER!)

It is truly time for SPARTAN NATION to stand up.  Tom Izzo has the team he has wanted all season. They are healthy, they are pumped up, and they are hard (that’s for you Bobcat).  The Buckeyes’ have a good squad down there in the arm pit of America; Aaron Craft is hella crafty with that ball, we all know.  This is Spartan time though.  All season long we have waited and we have talked.  “This is the team.”  And yes, on paper this team has what MichiganState needs to win another championship. Tonight Sparty has a chance to prove it.  Appling is finally feeling himself after putting up double digits against Iowa the other night.  Look for MSU to ROLL on the Buckeyes and head into the BIG 10 tourney looking for blood.

NHL Picks – It’s Sunday, let’s make some fuckin’ bets

Chicago (-230) @ Buffalo (WINNER!)

This is a no brainer.  Chicago is an Ipad; Buffalo is a rotary dial phone. Look for Kane and Toews to snipe on this joke of an NHL club and win you some money.  Buffalo will not be able to keep up with these rockpiles.  Chicago ROLLS on Buffalo.

Detroit (+1.5) @ New York (L)

Yes it’s Madison Square Garden; and yes it’s the Rangers.  But these Wings are on a mission.  Detroit is looking for playoffs while the Rangers are gearing up for playoffs.  Babcock’s team will be ready to go to war tonight against the ole Rangers, don’t you worry.  Look for Tatar to dangle and Franzen to snipe; while Bertuzzi…well he’s probably going to “Bertuzzi” the fuck out of someone and somehow score in the process.  Wings ROLL on the Rangers, if not it’s a 1 goal game and you  still win!

Sugar’s Pick: Detroit +1.5

Los Angeles (-150) @ Edmonton (WINNER!)

Edmonton has already made plans for what they’re doing on summer break, let’s be honest.  LA is gearing up for playoffs again.  They look to head into the Oil City and go to work on the pathetic Oilers. No one knows why the Oilers are garbage; but they are.  The Kings win this one and you win money so why do you fuckin’ care?
