MLB Baseball

MLB Picks

Man have I let you baseball addicts down lately! I haven't been throwing picks out on the daily, nor have I been tossing out winners. Today I'm going to roll out 9 to make up for it, but first, the daily rant:

Bryce HarperThe NBA and NHL playoffs are in action now, making this possibly the best time of the year; especially for baseball picks. Sportsbooks are so busy taking casual NBA and NHL money that they aren't going to worry about a little side money on baseball. Do I know this to be true? Not at all. I made it up, but you believed it and that is what counts. Now, back to baseball. The Nationals and Angels play today, meaning the only two slightly marketable baseball players in the US are facing off. Let me explain why you want my guy, Bryce Harper aka Bryce Baseball to dominate this series. Mike Trout is slowly turning into a Manning/Tim Duncan type of player in that he always says, "the right thing." Well we don't need that and the sport of baseball definitely doesn't need that. While Trout may be electric on the field, he's a boring white guy from the 1960s in front of the mic. There's nothing wrong with that! He'll be remembered as a professional and a great player. But this is the new millennium! An era dominated by social media, bigger, faster, stronger athletes and copious amounts of sex. That is exactly what Bryce Baseball represents. Just this last weekend, Harper was suspended for jogging to first base when he hit a come back to the pitcher. Seriously baseball? We're going to get pissed at a guy for jogging? In baseball? The game where people rarely move anyways? This one issue shows that baseball has a real problem being stuck in the past while trying to thrive in a fast paced, electronic age. With a player like Harper, we're finally getting someone that doesn't use "respect for the game" and other outdated expressions as a means of boringness. Harper represents the RG3s and Johnny Footballs of the world! People that we love to talk about! We need Harper to dominate and be a personality at the same time to break down the stuffiness of this sport! Bryce Baseball is a bad man and the world ain't ready. So for now, fuck Mike Trout and fuck the Angels! That's what this sport needs!
