Initially I wanted to take the Connecticut team straight up to win this game, but after doing a little digging I have decided to go with the under instead. Why? Because these are the two worst shooting teams in the WNBA and both average under 70 ppg. Sure this could change tonight because they are playing each other, but I am willing to take that bet. Watch the Connecticut Sun roll in this game early as they break their 0-fer start to the season.
MIN at TULSA (+6.5) (WINNER!)
Oh boy is this a ballsy pick!! This is the defending champion Lynx who haven't lost a game since the days before we knew the owner of the Clippers was a racist! But, in defense of Tulsa, I really like the debut that Skylar Diggins had in the first game and the Lynx are going to be short handed on the beginning of a very tough road trip. I think that they will probably end up winning this one in the end, but the Tulsa team should be able to cover.
SA at PHX (-9) (L)
Even though this is a particularly large spread for any basketball game, let alone the WNBA, I still feel confident in this pick. Britney Griner has been on a tear lately and has really started her second WNBA season out strong. Couple that with the fact that she played really well last season against this same San Antonio squad and you have blowout written all over it.
