After a few days of being off the radar, your boy B Catz is back in the building (litter box?) to throw a couple of NBA locks at you. In the last set of picks I made I finally lost for the first time in a while with picks that were getting points. Does that mean I am going to come out you with an entirely revamped strategy like the Pats do every Sunday?? NO WAY!!! TAKE THE POINTS!!!
CHA (+3.5) vs. DAL
DEN (+12) vs. CLE
My editor and number one detractor "Mr. Nutz" argued with me for twenty minutes about rolling these picks because "Dallas blows teams out and Denver sucks". Well you know what Mr. Nutz, that's why you run a mildly successful retail operation and are casual friends with Tom Skarrit. Catz on the other hand? He's a sharp, and the sharps take games that nobody else wants to touch. Vegas wants the public to think this is easy money with both favorites, and knows that if either of these dogs cover they will be raking in money with a shovel. Charlotte is decent at home and Denver is way too terrible not to cover.
CHI (+5.5) vs. LAC
The Bulls are great on the road. The Clippers are still struggling and literally have no one on the wing that knows how to play defense. Look for the Bulls to have a nice little scheme cooked up that limits the good looks for the Clippers and way too many possessions ending in jacked up off-balance jumpers from DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin. Bulls not only cover, they win.
ORL (+4) vs. DET
The Magic are not as bad as this line would suggest. Sure they just lost Aaron Gordon possibly for the season depending on how careful they are with him going forward, but they have some depth. This is going to be a battle on the interior with the Magic getting the slight edge and winning this game on the road.
