FREE SIMMONS!!!
We here at Dirty Picks are big fans of Mr. Bill Simmons and his Grantland website. During his ESPN tenure, Simmons has been a slightly controversial figure, mainly due to the fact that he hates corporate standards. Today, Mike Golic's fat ass decided to throw shade at Simmons for God knows what reason. Golic took a Simmons quote out of context which, is not surprising as Mike and Mike is less of an analytical, interesting show and more of a "Average Sports Fan at the Water Cooler" show. Seriously. I wake up early and most of the time I'm too tired to change the station or plug in my phone to listen to a podcast, and MOST OF THE TIME, Mike and Mike is fine. They basically set the tone for the rest of the day as they introduce all the ideas that ESPN will be rehashing for the next 15 hours (SVP and Rusillo excluded). It gets fairly draining after a while and just makes the typical "HEY DID YOU SEE THAT GAME LAST NIGHT?!" guy at your work even more insufferable. So until Mike and Mike brings something original to the table and stops going to default news stories (like SVP and Rusillo) or starts being hilarious (LeBatard) they can go fuck themselves. Free Simmons! NWO FOR LIFE!
Mr. Nutz's Big Ballz Teazer!!!
NBA Record 2014/15: 16-13
We've had some decent nights here at DPicks, but nothing to brag about yet. Usually I reserve teasers for the NFL and my personal shit, but today with two weird Western Conference games we need to help ourselves a little bit. So without further ado, our first 4 team basketball teaser of the year.
SA at HOU (+3) (OVER 187)
DAL at POR (+7.5) (UNDER 218)
I love coach Pop. I'm pretty sure he got fined for doing this last year, but that won't stop the bad ass that Pop is. With Tiago Splitter nursing an injury along with Marco Bellinelli, Pop decided that the Spurs had no need to compete tonight and will be resting Manu and Timmy. On national TV! Versus an undefeated in division opponent!!!!! I think it's great, and it is one of the reasons the Spurs are so successful. The Rockets play well against the Spurs, but tonight should still be close as the Spurs can somehow win with a bunch of dudes from the YMCA. It's going over and Houston should be able to overcome in the end.
The Mavs look like a real contender again (if they can start playing during the second half). Meanwhile Portland is starting to come around with Dame Lillard emerging last game to the tune of 25 points. The Blazers are too good at home, so take 7.5 points here and watch as Dirk and the boyz blow the second half to keep this one way under.
