BOS (+9) vs. WAS
These teams just played yesterday and Boston won, so why would you possibly take WAS -9 here?? Yeah sure, chances are the Celtics are not going to win this game, but shouldn't they be able to keep it within single digits? I think so. Unless the Wizards purposely threw yesterdays game just to get ready for this one, but more likely I think the Celtics backcourt is a bad matchup for the Beal/Wall combo of chocolate city.
BJ's take: Bradley and LeBrondo should be able to hold off Beal and Wall tonight, most likely in a loss. Jeff Green is averaging 25 over his last 5 games, building a nice case for a trade to in a month! Could we see a J Smoove - J Green swap?!
ATL (+1) against INDY
This has to be a mistake. Seriously someone who sets these lines messed up and forgot to put an extra 1 and a minus sign next to the Hawks. While you are taking a minute to figure out the math there, I am going to bet the house on Atlanta. The Hawks love to spread the d out and shoot the triple like its going out of style, not to mention that this same Atlanta team took the Pacers to seven in last years playoffs, and that Indy team was much better. Hawks win this game, most likely by double digits.
BJ's take: Take a wild guess at where ATL is in the Eastern Conference standings. Go ahead. Guess! That's right, second! They have the second best record in the East! Indiana, sitting at 11th, has lost 4 in a row and are relying on David West to do most of their scoring. That's just sad. Anyways, the Hawks are on a 6 game heater and with the Horford-Teague-Millsap trifecta humming right now, I see that extending in a big way tonight.
PHX (+7.5) vs. LAC
Suns on the road against one of the highest scoring teams in the league. This Clippers team is dangerous, if they get rolling (and they often do at home) they will absolutely blow the Suns out of the water. Really all I am banking on here is the return of Isaiah Thomas bringing life to the Suns second unit as they are able to keep this game tight throughout, barely losing by 3 or 4 in the final minutes. Dangerous, dangerous bet here, but getting 7.5 with a talented Suns team is a no-brainer.
BJ's take: Taking the points here is not as easy as you would think. The Suns have been routinely blown out at Staples by the Clips. The last time these two teams met, I thought Bledsoe and Dragic would give CP3 fits! Nope! Paul went off for 32 and Bledsoe scored 1 point. Rough.
UTAH (+5) vs. SAC
UTAH on the road?? The Catz has lost his damn mind. Really this is an awful pick, and the only reason I am even remotely interested in wasting money here is because Boogie Cousins is in a Sacramento hospital somewhere and not gobbling rebounds while viciously swinging his elbows down low. Hope to God (or whoever Mormon's pray to) that the Jazz can keep this one close and not let Rudy Gay go off for 40 points on 12-18 shooting or something ridiculous.
BJ's take: Boogie has meningitis! That's crazy! Get well soon Boogie, but while we have the chance, let's bank on the Kings blowing a ton of games in the next week or two. Rudy Gay is going to get too much shine!
