At first I thought this line was crazy (a common theme in today's pickz), but then I noticed the payout was -105! Meaning that Vegas actually expects this line to cover right?? And if I've said it once, I've said it a million times, Vegas knows their shit, the rest of us don't. Take the points.
LAL (+5) vs. INDY
This line is a smidgen more sane than the one before. At least the Lakers are looking like a decent team these days, and the return of Swaggy P has been all smiles in Lakerland. But in the end you are taking a garbage defensive team on the road against a team that likes to control possessions and play fundamental ball. Dangerous getting points bet here, but safer than the next one.
DET (+12.5) vs. LAC
Well it's official, Catz has lost his damn mind. After bringing this pick up to my editor, he reminded me that I swore off betting on the Pistons a little over ten days ago. So what do I do? I take the Pistons, on the road, against one of the best teams in basketball. Jesus that's a dumb bet, only the dumbest of bettors would lay money down on this one and by golly you have found the right man! I will say though that the Pistons have won two straight and after watching them in person the other night, I noticed that they were doing basketball things like they should be...I.e. Contesting shots with their length, dunking and jacking threes. As long as Smoove doesn't try to outshoot the Clippers snipers this one could hit. Just don't bet on it....zing, a little betting humor.
