Wednesday Night's Locks On Ice
Montreal @ Columbus (+110)
The public seems to think Montreal is the pick to make here. I think Columbus is a lot better team than their record shows. I talked about it earlier in the year; they were devastated by injury for a month and a half. They’ve been playing good hockey lately. Both teams have dropped 2 straight games heading into tonight. While Montreal is in the fight for first place in the Atlantic Division, Columbus is in a fight just to make playoffs. I like the Bluejackets at home with a healthy line up.
OVER/UNDER: UNDER 5.5 (-150)
Philadelphia @ Washington -1.5 (+160)
The Caps lost to Philly on the road in overtime just 6 days ago. Besides that game, the Caps have been on fire lately. They have earned points in 17 out of their last 18 games and essentially saved their season. A big reason for their success: Ovi is playing his best hockey of the season. When your best players are playing their best, it almost always leads to wins. Caps roll at home.
Toronto +1.5 (-175) @ Anaheim
Anaheim remains atop their division and 2nd in the NHL in points, but hasn’t been playing great as of late. I really like the Leafs plus the points and here’s why: the Ducks have only won 2 games in their past THIRTY FIVE by 2 or more goals. They’ve gone 11 straight games without beating a team by 2 goals or more. Basically, Anaheim wins a lot of games but they haven’t been crushing teams by any means.
OVER/UNDER: OVER 5.5 (-110)
New Jersey @ Los Angeles (-250)
New Jersey is having a rough year to say the least. They have been losing a ton of games and most of them aren’t even competitive. LA doesn’t look like they have any hopes of a repeat Cup run, but they’re losing games competitively to say the least. I don’t think the Devils will put up much of a fuss in a beat down in LA.
