Thursday Bar-down Locks
Smashville (+105) @ NY Islanders
It’s not everyday we get served up with a line featuring the Preds as the dogs. Vegas must be running out of rooms to fill with money so they’re giving some away. Both these teams have emerged has Cup contenders this season after not making playoffs last spring. Why should you roll with Smashville? Two reasons: The Preds have a better defensive core (possibly the best in the NHL) and they have a guy named Pekka Rinne. The Gargantuan of the Goal Line; the Pillar between the Pipes; the Forestall from Finland. Don’t doubt the ability of this 6’5” goaltender.
Vancouver @ NY Rangers (-160)
The Rangers haven’t lost a game in a minute and roll into tonight with 4 straight wins. The ‘Nucks aren’t quite as bad as last year, but by no means are they the Vancouver Canucks of old. The Rangers boast a roster with multiple high profile NHL scorers. Look for the Rangers and Lundqvist to take care of bidness tonight at home.
Winnipeg @ Washington (-165)
The Jets are about due for a couple losses. Ovi and the Caps will more than likely provide a jump start for that tonight. The Jets aren’t bad and I don’t expect a blow out of any kind, but I do expect the Caps to win. Watch for a classic Ovi power play one-timer bad-deezzy.
Florida (+130) @ Montreal
I’ve probably only rolled with a Panthers pick 3 times in my life, counting tonight. Montreal has been playing like a bunch of jabroni’s on the pond lately. I think their poor play will hit rock bottom tonight as they drop one to the Panthers.
Buffalo (+230) @ Philadelphia
This is the first time in years I’ve picked the Sabres to win. I don’t think Philly is that good of a team and I think Buffalo will take any win they can get right now.
