Summer League

WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! One of my favorite times of the year!!! While everyone else is being miserable pretending they enjoy baseball, everyone's favorite basketball sports bettor extraordinaire is getting a leg up on the NBA by watching the Orlando summer league!! These games are essentially college all-star games and actually way more competitive than you would think. Mostly because these dudes know that only exec's and coaches are allowed in the building, so everyone is going all out in an attempt to make or secure a roster spot. I see it as a chance to make some easy money.

ORL very White vs. INDY (+4.5)

If you know me, you know I love to get points in an NBA game. This is a perfect example of why. Orlando is playing two teams in this league, a black one and a white one. Sorry a "blue" one, apparently black wasn't politically correct. But that basically means they had to scrape the bottom of the barrel to fill out this white team, because they are basically a JV team. Not a single one of these dudes is gonna play in the NBA, a lot of them won't even make D-league rosters. Meanwhile Indy has superstar big man Myles "Baby Bosh" Turner who has been tearing the league up to the tune of 20 and 10 in his first two games. Now summer league is tricky, in that there is no way to predict playing time, so I won't be surprised if Myles sees extended bench time in favor of emptying out the bench to see what they have. But either way, 4.5 is way too many points even in summer league to stay away from.

ORL Black...err Blue (-2) vs. OKC

This game is actually going to feature guys who will be playing in NBA games come this winter!! The Blue squad is stacked with notable talent like Elfrid Peyton and Aaron Gordon; not to mention Dirty Picks new favorite player SUPER MARIO who only came out and hit the game winning three in his first summer league game. This guy has the biggest balls in the gym, and a shooting stroke to match. Meanwhile OKC actually has some talent and should definitely make a game out of this one, but in the end the trio of Peyton/Gordon/ and Mario should be enough to win this one comfortably.

DET vs. MIA (-2.5)

Another fun matchup as the two best players so far in this league square off against each other to prove who is a better combo guard once and for all!! Justise vs. Stanley doesn't quite have the same ring as Bird vs. Magic quite yet, but it is as close as you are gonna get for a summer league game. Plus Winslow has a little extra motivation considering the Pistons selected Stanley over him, despite almost every scout worth a damn predicting that Justise was more NBA ready and probably a better prospect moving forward.
