The Pelicans aren't the worst team in the league, they are just unbelievably injured and haven't been able to suit up a lot of NBA players, especially in the backcourt. Ish Smith is getting major minutes, the same Ish that couldn't crack the top 10 for these same Suns two seasons ago. But he's made the most of it, averaging over 7 assists per game. The overall record still doesn't look good, 3-11, but they should be able to get a win in the desert tonight as they continue to fight back from an early season hole.
DAL +9.5 vs SAS
I love watching the Spurs play, which is something if I said to myself ten years ago I would have promptly set fire to my own ball sack. But if you truly like the NBA, they have to be amongst your favorite squads to respect, because they play the game the right way. If this was a baseball team they wouldn't celebrate with bat flips, or run across the pitchers mound between innings. Much like the Patriots of New England, they all know their job and execute it like professionals. It's impressive to watch. However, even with all that being said I like the Mavs to win keep this one close, ultimately losing by three or four points.
MEM +3 vs HOU
It is way too early to say this, but if the playoffs started today Houston wouldn't be participating. This isn't good, especially at the defensive end. Meanwhile the Grind house started the season super slow, but has recovered lately and are getting back to the things that they do well, and that help them win games. I expect the nightmare season for H town to continue and won't be surprised if they make some surprising trades in the next few months because Dork Elvis doesn't put up with this losin shit.
