Top 5 Stone Cold LOCKS of the day!!

The holidays are over and most of you probably got slaughtered after a tough Christmas Day and even tougher NFL Sunday in gambling circles. Well have no fear, Bobby Catz is here to help you flip the double bird to 2015, and usher in the new year with some stone cold NBA locks....and I guess some hockey picks from Sugar formerly known as a writer for DP.

ATL +2 vs. IND

The Hawks have been on a mean win streak lately mainly due to the improved play of German Rajon Rondo and unexpected reappearance of the regional manager Michael Scott. Winners of their last six, they have surged all the way to second in the east, and if Cleveland continues to take nights off, they could find themselves in the drivers seat before the all-star break. On the other side the Pacers have cooled off considerably since their time spent as the number 2 seed, and PG13 has been playing more like PG12.4 (his scoring average) in the last few games. I like the Hawks to win this game outright, but grab the couple of points while you can.

CLE -8.5 vs. PHX

Cavs have lost two straight and looked like absolute garbage Saturday night in Portland. Guess what they won't do? Lose to a team that just lost their best player in Eric Bledsoe (possibly for the season) and fired two of their assistant coaches. This line could have been -15.5 and I would still take it. Absolute blowout alert tonight in the desert as the Cavs look to get back on track and win this game by thirty easy.

NOP +4.5 vs. ORL

Well it finally happened, after weeks and weeks of taking the points with the Magic and getting easy wins, Vegas readjusted over the Christmas weekend. Now the Magic have been favs in two straight games and look a lot less attractive than they did when they were getting 4-5 a game. The Pelicans have played better lately and look a lot closer to being that team that snagged the 8 seed out west last season then the squad that started off 0-6 this year. The 8th seed is still in play for them, and while I still think they are a trade or two away from competing, they should be able to cover this against Orlando.

DETROIT ML +120 vs. MIN

WAS (-1.5) +180 vs. BUFFALO

I was gonna make a few jokes here about our hockey picks for the day, but I know how rabid hockey fans are and don't feel like getting jumped the next time I attend a Yotes game. So I'll just roll em, for you guys...you dusty benders!!

NBA Xmas Week Special

ORL +2.5 vs. NYK

The Knicks are on a four game winning streak!! Well, hold on a second before you go out and buy your Eastern Conference Champs t-shirts Knicks fans. The streak has come against Philly, Minnesota, Portland and a Bulls team that is currently in a state of disarray. Meanwhile the Magic are currently taking care of buisness night in and night out and yet no one seems to notice. Love the Melo/Zinger combo, but the Knicks aren't good enough to win five in a row. Magic get the dub on the road.

CHA +3 vs. HOU

The second most disciplined team in the league (you're still one, San Antonio) against the most undisciplined team in the league?? Easy pick as far as I'm concerned. Yeah D12 has been playing good little foot solider lately after the trade rumors started to surface, but the unhappiness is bound to rear it's ugly head again right? Jeremy Lin and Kemba Walker are going to combine for 38 points and 15 assists against the porous defensive backcourt that is the Rockets.

PHX +4 vs. UTA

The Suns lost a really odd game yesterday at home against Milwaukee in which they lead the entire game until the last two minutes when they went ice cold. They should be good and fired up for tonight to get that win back in Utah. The Jazz just aren't the same team with Gobert and have plummeted from the sexy Western conference sleeper, to lottery contender....wait a second somehow they are holding the 8th spot right now at 11-14, ladies and gentlemen your 2015 Western Conference!! Never like taking teams on a back to back, but because of the results of last night, this one should have a little extra effort from the Suns.

SAS -8.5 vs. IND

The Pacers seem like that match up that Pop wishes he could play 82 times a year right? You know the game plan here, and it works to success every single time they use it, let PG13 get his and make someone else on the team beat you. You think they are worried about Monta Ellis or CJ Miles beating them? Nope, not in the least. Oh, and they are gonna throw Kawhi "super freak" Leonard on Paul George? Sign me up!! I like the Pacers, but I love the Spurs. Lay the points!!!

NBA King Kristaps Picks

ORL +8.5 vs CLE

This line could end up going really bad for both me and Orlando. LeBron seems to be super motivated by what the Warriors are doing down in San Fran, and despite major loss to injury already this season, the Cavs are playing a premiere level. Meanwhile the Magic are learning the hard way that Scott Skiles is not messing around and I believe almost every major player on this team has found themselves on the bench in the fourth quarter this season. I'm going to take my chances with a depleted Cavs team, but this is by no means a lock.

SAC +4 vs CHA

I have no idea how the Kings were able to turn it around after getting off to a horrible start the first ten games. George Karl and Cousins have a very strange love/hate relationship; where they get in to fights constantly, but it seems like they respect what each other bring to the table. Well, at least Karl does, it's unknown if Boogie respects anyone ever. Look for the Boogie train to have a monster of a game tonight against a slow, getting older by the day Al Jefferson.

NYK +4.5 vs MIA

Uh oh!! You know you've made it big time when opposing teams are calling you out before the game. So welcome to the show Porzingis!! The Heat came out and said lets see how he does when a team actually guards him, which is both a shot at the Zinger and all the other teams in the league apparently. Because of all this extra attention paid to shutting down the Zinger, tonight is the night Melo goes off for close to 50 against the team  that should trade for him before the end of the season. Maybe tonight's masterpiece of Melo will be enough to convince Riley to pull the trigger. Either way, Knicks win this game and the Zing train rolls on.

NBA TGIF

CHI +6 vs IND
Apparently Vegas hasn't been watching the Bulls lately, because they definitely don't need this many points against the Pacers. Sure they played last night against a tough OKC team and now have to play a rugged defensive team; but Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol are good enough to beat this team on their own.

DEN +11.5 vs SAS
A week ago, we here at Dirty Picks decided to bet against the Nuggets for the rest of the season and then they fired their coach and have won 2 straight since. Well I missed the first two opportunities to grab the points on this squad, it won't happen a third time.

DAL +10 vs GSW
Dallas is definitely gonna need every last one of these ten points, but they should be able to do enough to hang with the warriors. Look for a big Rajon Rondo game as he tries to out play future MVP Steph Curry.

Catz's Quick Picks

PHI (+11) vs. IND

Hmm, real tough pick here. More than likely the Sixers get blowed out, but I'm gonna bet on the Pacers offensive ineptitude. Plus the Sixers actually have a few NBA players now, less than they did a few weeks ago even, but NBA players!! There's still hope Philly. Six more number one picks and you guys might sniff the playoffs in 2025.

SAC (+8.5) vs. POR

I've come to the conclusion that DeMarcus Cousin's doesn't like hipsters, mainly Portland hipsters. For some reason anytime Boogie travels to Rip City he brings the wrath of Cousins with him and tears up the Blazers suspect front line (by the way ten years ago "Blazers suspect front line" had a much different meaning). Kings have looked decent since hiring George Karl and I expect that trend to continue tonight, Boogie catches the Snitch, but Portland wins.
