Free Friday NHL Picks

Friday NHL Picks – Rebecca Black Style

NY Rangers (+1.5) @ Columbus (WINNER!)
LundqvistThese two teams are separated by only two points in the Metropolitan Division.  As of right now, the Rangers hold a playoff spot but things could change drastically in the coming weeks.  Every game from here on out for both of these teams is a must-win.  The Rangers have depth on offense and one of the best goalies in the world.  I expect to see Lundqvist lock it down in net per usual, and the Rangers to spend a lot of time in the offensive zone.  Columbus doesn’t have the skill to play a puck possession game.  This is shown by the fact that most of their goals are come from odd man rushes and shots taken shortly after gaining the zone.  The Rangers control the puck better; especially against a team like Columbus.  Look for New York to roll on the road.
Sugar’s Pick: Rangers +1.5

Nashville @ Calgary (-120) (L)
This match up features two clubs that no one really gives a shit about.  Nashville has 68 points; Calgary has 63.  The Preds roll into Western Canada on a nice 3 game losing streak.  The Flames have won 3 of their last 4 including a 7-2 throttling of the Anaheim Ducks.  I’m feeling the Flames in this one; they’re at home and they’ve been playing decent lately.
Sugar’s Pick: Calgary -120

Boston @ Colorado (OVER 5.5) (L)
Boston is riding on a 10 game win streak heading into this one.  They seem to have hit their stride at the perfect time.  The Bruins have 24 goals in their last 6 games while the Avs have 20 over their last 6 despite going 3-3.  Basically, both teams know how to light then lamp and I will be shocked if this game doesn’t go over 5.5.  I have a feeling Colorado will end the Bruins streak tonight but for betting purposes take the over here.

Sugar’s Pick: Colorado OVER 5.5
