The NBA Playoffs start today and it is certainly shaping up to be quite a playoffs indeed. Here is just a brief look at all of the match-ups; including predictions, key story lines, and upset alerts!
(1) Indiana vs (8) Atlanta
Calling what the Pacers did over the last few months as stumbling is an insult to stumblers everywhere. Some nights it seemed like they were giving everything they had in order to score 70 points! On the other hand, the Hawks weren't exactly saving their best for last either. If it was any team besides the Knicks chasing them for the 8th spot they absolutely would have lost it and be golfing in Hotlanta right now. So what a great series we have here right? I fully expect the Hawks to win 2 or even 3 games in this series and possibly push the Pacers to seven. All in all though the Pacers are too talented and too strong defensively to lose to the Hawks in the first round.

(3) Clippers vs (6) Warriors
This would absolutely be the biggest upset alert on the board, if Andrew Bogut was healthy. Unfortunately for the Dubs, he is not. Though Steph Curry might catch fire and steal a game, the Clippers should be able to win this one pretty easily. Too much Griffin and Paul.

(1) Spurs vs (8) Mavericks
The Grizzlies and the Mavs did not want to play the Spurs in the first round. That is why they fought to the death on the last night of the regular season for a chance to play the Thunder instead! Unfortunately for the Mavs they lost and will now get swept by the Spurs. Parker, Duncan, and Leonard will sweep the shit out of the team from Dallas.

(2) Heat vs (7) Bobcats
Damn it, damn it, damn it. I really enjoyed the Catz this year they were very consistent for me and I won a good number of spreads with them. Unfortunately they don't stand a chance against the defending champs. This isn't march madness, and even though I expect the Catz to steal one, this one goes 5 tops.

(5) Trail Blazers at (4) Rockets
Probably the most interesting matchup of the first round and definitely a small upset chance for the Blazers. If Patrick Beverly isn't good to go these first couple of games, the Blazers could absolutely steal this series right from under the Rockets nose. Tightly contested series that I expect to go the distance.

(3) Bulls vs. (6) Wizards
Another series that isn't going to work out the way that I would like it to. Chicago has absolutely overachieved all season and they could hit a huge wall against the Wizards. These boys from chocolate city can score and they aren't half bad on defense. On the other hand I just don't trust the Bulls to be able to put up enough points to take this series.

(4) Raptors vs. (5) Nets
One of our favorite teams all season, the Toronto Raptors! Against probably my least favorite team, the fuckin Nets. I want to pick the Raptors to win this series so damn badly, just so I don't have to keep losing bets against Brooklyn. However, I just can't do it. I think the experience and depth of the Nets wins this series in the end.

(2) Thunder vs. (7) Grizzlies
A lot of chatter out there on the internet has the Grizzlies as being able to hang in this series and possibly push it to seven! I am in the minority I guess then, because I legitimately think the Thunder could sweep and at the very least win in 5. I like the Grizzlies, Z-Bo is one of my favorite post players of all time, but Durant coming off an MVP season is not letting Memphis get the best of him in round one.
