OH BOY!!! It is finally that time of the year, time for the NBA draft!! I have always been a huge NBA draft fan, there is just something about that prospects of unknown commodities that really gets my blood flowing. I mean ever year we have the same type of story lines, and it is fun to imagine who is going to dominate the conversation tonight. Who is going to be the big bust? Who is going to be the superstar that went 8 picks too late?? And most importantly who is going to be the next Lance Stephenson?? Well, fear not, all of your answers will be revealed tonight in NYC! Want to make things a little more interesting? Bet on some of these props.
DANTE EXUM over 3.5 (+140), JOEL EMBIID under 5 (-150) (WINNERx2)
By betting on these props, you are essentially saying that Joel Embiid will go three to Philly (or another team that trades up) and then Exum at four. I think this is as close to a lock as humanely possible. There is no way in hell that three teams pass on a center who is seven foot and at one time compared to a young Hakeem Olajuwon. It just does not happen in the NBA. I do not care about his injury history, someone will take the gamble because if it pans out this guy could legitimately be NBA royalty. Plus NBA teams have an extensive history over gambling on skilled 7 footers. For god sakes the Suns took Alex Len last year at 5 or 6 (I honestly can not remember) and Embiid has a much higher ceiling than the former gymnast Len. Do yourself a favor and take the Exum over 3.5 because it is a higher payout and then watch the Cavs shock the world and draft him first, damn you Dan Gilbert. Damn you.
Andrew Wiggins number one overall pick (-325) (WINNER!)
Terrible payout on this bet, but that is because it is pretty much a lock. The Cavs need to get better and especially on perimeter defense. Wiggins is an elite NBA perimeter defender already (seriously) and has a very high ceiling on the offensive end. Even the Cavs can not screw this pick up even if their owner was the guy who owns Quicken Loans. Hold on, Dan Gilbert does own Quicken Loans? Fuck. Well take this bet and hold your breath as the Cavs pick.
