Thursday Picks

Major League Baseball picks

Atlanta Braves @ NY Mets (-115) (L)
We here at Dirty Picks have come to the conclusion that the Braves don’t win.  The Mets have handed it to the Braves 3 straight games and look to complete the sweep tonight.   ATL sits 7 games back on NY in their division.  With about half the season left the Mets are making a push to compete for a post season spot. They’ve won 4 in a row and 5 of their last 6, meanwhile the Braves have lost 4 straight.  The money line should be a solid bet for tonight.

Washington Natty Ice (-120) @ Baltimore Orioles (L)
Fister held it down most the game last night until he was relieved in the 8th inning.  Washington has traded big wins with Baltimore; losing the first game 8-2 at home and winning 6-2 at on the road last night.  Natty Ice pitcher Gio Gonzalez will be on the mound tonight.  In his last outing he pitched 7 k’s over 8 scoreless innings in a 13-0 routing of the Cubs.  On top of pitching, the Natty Ice have come together and won 9 of their last 11 games giving them the lead in the NL East.  Washington continues to roll on the road tonight.

Oakland Billy Beane’s  (-105) @ San Francisco Little Giants (WINNER!)
Scott Kazmir will be starting on the mound for the A’s; he’s 10-3 with a 2.53 ERA.  For SanFran, Tim Hudson will be the starting pitcher.  This is the 4th consecutive match up of these two clubs.  I’m expecting Oakland to keep it low scoring and win one on the road to win the series.
