NBA Locks

Nothing too attractive on the NFL front, so I decided to head over to the ole NBA well and churn out my normal 2-1 night. Lately my picks have been solid enough, but I am really looking to turn in more consistent 3-0 type nights and I realized I needed to throw one favorite in with my two dogs in order to balance out the energy of the universe or something that somebody who lives in Seattle would say.

BOS (+5.5) vs. POR
Portland is coming off a very tough night against the Bulls in Rip City last night. Today they spent all night flying, and are on the road for the second night of a back to back. Never a good recipe for success. Boston is not a very good team and barely plays anything resembling a defense, but they should be able to keep this one close enough to at least cover, if not pull off the upset against a tired Portland team.

LAL (+1.5) vs. DEN
This is one of those classic Kobe turn back the clock games. He knows the Lakers are terrible and will be competing for lottery position at the end of the year, rather than championships; and will get the wins where he can. This is one of those wins. Kobe takes a shot literally every time he touches the ball tonight as he puts up a 16-42 and 53 point type of night. Also Swagalicious P might hit him a couple of triples ensuring the victory for the Lakers at home.

LAC at MEM (-3)
I was hesitant at first to throw this game in as my favorite, but then I thought about how I would feel about betting against Grindhouse in this matchup. Memphis is literally perfectly built to stop the Clippers. They have two big men who bang down low and a bevy of perimeter defenders who won't let the high scoring Clipper backcourt get the looks that they are accustomed to. This is going to be a sloppy, possession based defensive battle that Memphis thrives in and LAC hasn't quite proven they can win in yet.
