Toronto (EVEN) @ Florida
Every hockey player, old and young, dream's of playing in the Show. Whether it's shooting around in the driveway or playing pond hockey, we all have some image of a perfect world in which we are a star on our favorite team scoring a Game 7, OT, Stanley Cup clinching goal. In those dreams, no one imagines themselves wearing a Florida Panthers' jersey and winning a Cup for South Beach. No one. Don't get me wrong, I would play for absolutely any NHL team that would give me the time of day. I'd play for free. Shit I would even pay to play. Having said that, the players on the Panthers really get screwed. Their franchise isn't going anywhere and it can't be the NHL experience they dreamed of. The NHL has tapped a nice little market down there with the snowbirds. Their arena is half empty for the first third of the season but as soon as winter rolls around it's packed to capacity. The only problem is a pacemaker is more common than a cell phone at their games. What good is 20,000 fans when 15,000 of them would be risking their lives if they did so much as stand up too quickly? Florida is favored to win tonight despite being behind Toronto in the standings by a decent amount. I presume it is due to the idea that they are on their home ice. I'm here to tell you, Florida has the least intimidating arena in the NHL. No reason Toronto doesn't win tonight.
Vancouver (+115) @ Anaheim
The Nucks have scored 10 goals in their last 2 games. Their last game was a 7-1 beat down on Arizona. Anaheim lost to the Yotes last night in a shootout 2-1. Anaheim has been the better team this year but Vancouver is tough to bet against right now.
