Now that the holidays are over and the new year is upon us, lets get back to the basics and get this NBA gravy train back on track with the next stop being early retirement city!!
ORL (+6) vs. MIA
The Heat are going to lose to a bunch of really garbage teams over the next couple of months. Their entire season was played out on Christmas Day when they threw everything they had against the Cavs in an attempt to show LeBron how much he wasn't missed in South Beach. Unfortunately for them, that was probably the last bright spot of their long season. D Wade isn't spry enough to carry a basketball team like it was 2006, and the team isn't deep enough to contend without him. Throw in the fact that Orlando has been a solid points getter all season, and you have a perfect bet to start off your night.
SAC (+2) vs. BKN
Not even Stephen Hawking can explain why Brooklyn is favored in this game. B town is one of the worst teams in the league this year, and they look extremely old, slow and uncoordinated with the worst still yet to come. Meanwhile Sac town fired their coach and haven't missed a beat since thanks to the return of Boogie Cousins. Look for the Kings to feed the ball down low and grind out one of those 100-92 wins with a Cousins line of 35 and 15.
WAS (+4) vs. HOU
The Wizards are a really good team. Houston in the meantime decided to take their already talented team and throw J Smoove into the mix just to see how bad he can fuck up their chemistry. The good news is largely he has been the talented Josh Smith while the ugly 20 ft jump shooter J Smoove has only made one or two appearances. Look for that trend to change tonight as a close game is ruined by an ill-advised Smoove triple that misses everything and nails an unsuspecting camera man on the baseline. Close game thrown away by Josh, take the points on this one.
MIL (+3) vs. CHA
Really just playing the odds on this one. Charlotte has won the last two matchups between these teams, both times in OT. Hoping that Milwaukee does just enough to steal this one on the road in Carolina.
