Damn, Catz has so much chalk on his hands after these picks, I'm starting to think I am a middle school math teacher!! All terrible jokes aside, I will deviate from my norm here and throw up a couple of favorites with spreads that are fairly close to double digits which is usually an absolute no-no. But after being off the grid for a few days due to a Subway phone accident, I literally had no other options but to actually sit down and watch basketball games. No candy crush, no streaming Doctor Rage Quit madden highlights, just pure unadulterated NBA basketball. It did have some perks though, I was able to get my feel back for the NBA which had been noticeably absent since the third week of December. Two of the things I have picked up in the past week, are that perennial powerhouses like the Spurs and Thunder have been laying in the weeds getting ready to pounce on the NBA playoffs.
OKC (-7.5) vs. MIA
OH man this Thunder team is starting to look dangerous. Now that Hustle and Flow (my new nickname for the Thunder duo) have actually had more than a week of games with each other, you can really see them starting to take off, including a recent win against the Dubs (GSW) that showed the rest of the West that the finals are still going to go through Oklahoma. Throw in an actual upgrade with Dion Waiters coming off the bench, and you have a Thunder team that despite being five hundred, could easily win the ship this season. It remains to be seen if they make a trade for Nets big man Brook Lopez, which by the way is an absolute atrocity of a move and the Thunder would be borderline retarded to actually go through with this deal, but either way the team is starting to find its groove and should win big tonight against the Heat moving over .500 for the first time this season!!
SAS (-8) vs. DEN
KAWHI IS BACK!!!! I honestly watched the Spurs play like five times earlier this season and forgot their best player wasn't even playing!! That's the kind of quiet domination that Kawhi brings to the floor when he is actually healthy. Since getting him back the Spurs have been able to play some defense and Kawhi is doing all of the little things and shouldering the load so that the big three can rest up for the Western conference death pit that is the Western Conference playoffs. Meanwhile Denver decided to stop showing up for games about two weeks ago, so lay the points here and watch Kawhi go for 22, 5, 5, 4, 3, 5, and 6 in typical Spurs fashion as they win 115-87.
