ORL +9 at WAS
Well this is weird. I should be taking Portland against the Nets, but Catz is on a power trip right now and only allows us to take the points. Tonight I'm giving the Magic agains the Wiz, mainly because 9 points is just too high. The Wiz are definitely a good team, but the defensive DAWGS of the Orlando Magic (Oladipo, Gordon and Payton) will be able to hound John Wall all night and keep this one close. Based on that defensive output, I expect the Magic to keep this one close. Oh and Nikola Vucevic is a baller!
ATL (+7) vs. CLE
Continuing on my streak of taking the points and cleaning out Vegas; we go with two road teams who if you ask general basketball fan Steve, neither should have any chance of winning! Lucky for you real sharps out there, I am not general basketball fan Steve. Cleveland is not only coming off a hard fought game in Boston, but LeBron basically had to walk on water to prevent them from a blowing a huge lead last night in Beantown. Meanwhile ATL will spread you out and jack up enough triples that is almost shocking JR Smith and Antoine Walker aren't on this roster. Look for a couple of these triples to fall as this one stays close throughout, possibly even ending in an Atlanta upset win.
MINN (+11.5) vs. DALLAS
This is the worst pick easily on the board, which thereby makes it the safest pick. Dallas obliterated the 76ers recently, while Minnesota saw themselves on the wrong end of a blowout as well. So this pick is easy right? One team blows and the other team does the blowing, that's free money right?? That's what Vegas wants you to think. Remember this is the NBA and the difference from one night to the next is huge! Just look at what the Sixers did last night to the Rockets, almost scoring an upset against a vastly superior opponent. Same thing goes here, Sota does just enough to keep this one close and some late game heroics by Dirk is the only thing that prevents the upset!
