NBA Picks

NBA Trade Madness Picks!

NO (-5) at BOS

I really like this pick, especially after the Jeff Green trade. Were there odds on "Player most likely to be traded" because their was a 500% chance Green got traded this year. Boston is not a terrible team, but they're looking to rebuild and cash in on a shit load of picks over the next few years. The Pellies on the other hand, are legit trying to make the playoffs. Hopefully this leads to an Eric Gordon - Joe Johnson swap, because the Pels could use a little ISO Joe at the end of games. Anthony Davis has somehow cooled in the media, but he's still an MVP level player. Davis is averaging a 23-10-3 this year, and I see no one in Boston stopping him tonight. The Pels need to beat these lower level Eastern Conference teams to have a shot in the playoffs, so roll this one confidently.

DET (+6) vs. TOR

Second hottest team in the league right now (behind ATL) getting points against Toronto?? Sign me the fuck up!!! Two weeks ago if I would have suggested this line to my editor, he immediately would have pulled me off the floor (imagine a newsroom circa 1923) and have me drug tested. Of course we both know I would have failed, but the point would be made. Today though? The Pistons are the sexy getting points pick. Who would have guessed that cutting the guy who ended all of your possessions with terrible 20 ft jumpers that airballed would end up with a team that actually tried at both ends of the floor and when someone else is taking those shots they actually go down?? I mean who possibly could have seen this coming?? I love getting points here, and will continue to ride this Detroit team because they have a great coach and now that they are following his scheme, a solid team.

HOU (-6.5) vs. BKN
On the other end of the spectrum, the team Josh Smith went to ruin. This one scares the shit out of me, I'll admit. This is the perfect type of game where the Rockets get off to a very slow start and the Nets somehow hang around only for James Harden to hit three three's in a row and take a commanding double digit lead only to watch J Smoove jack up a couple of airballs and the Nets somehow get a cover...I can see it now. Just me by myself later shaking my head asking myself why I would take a team that features Josh Smith against the enigma that is the Brooklyn Nets. Oh well. ROLL IT!!!!! (Official Dirty Picks motto)
