Back to Basics Picks

Thank God!!! This is probably the worst week of betting the boys DP have ever endured. Back to back to back 1-3 nights, is more embarrassing than Donald Trump mocking disabled reporters. We went back to the basics today, and can hopefully start the weekend without that garbage taste of sour picks in our mouth.

MIA +5 vs IND

Two years ago these teams looked like they would meet in the Eastern Conference Finals for the next fifteen years minimum!! Then LeBron left and Paul George broke his damn leg, and today we are looking at two completely reinvented teams. Won't be as fun as it used to be, but should be a decent game. Gotta take the defensive powerhouse Heat against Paul George and...well Paul George that's why they gave up 78 points in the first half against the Warriors.

GSW -5.5 vs BOS

Finally the public is on my side thinking that this is the night the Warriors finally go down!!! So what does DP do? We zig when others zag!! We go left when you sheep go right!! Of course if you know my record picking Warriors  games this year I would pull out a second mortgage and place it all on Boston because they are guaranteed to win now.

CHA +3 vs MEM

Biggest shocker of the regular season, MJ might actually be a competent owner!! This team is currently second in the East and look like the Charlotte team everyone expected last year, until Lance Stephenson murdered it with his piss poor attitude (and shooting). Memphis is old and slow and still depends on Jeff Green way too much. Nuff said.

OKC -3.5 vs UTA

Durant!! He's back!!! But, tonight will be all Russell Westbrook for no real reason. Lately he's been doing just enough and letting KD do all of the heavy lifting, tonight they do a little role reverse cowgirl and Hustle goes off for 45, 15 and 9 dimes.

NBA Tuesday

WAS +5.5 vs OKC

It's the return of KD to the city that he helped build! That's right the nations capital, that wouldn't be here if not for Mr. former MVP. Though all the talk tonight is going to be about his chances of returning home after the end of the season, what they should be talkin about is the Wizards backcourt. Sure, they need to cut down on some turnovers, but these guys have been playing really well all season. The backcourt of Wall/Beal combine for 60 as the Wizards out play the Thunder in DC.

UTAH +6 vs CLE

For whatever reason Gordon Hayward plays really well whenever he plays against LeBron. Inevitably it always leads to the "has Hayward arrived??" convo on ESPN; followed by average output the rest of the season for Gordon. But at least it's fun to talk about for a few days. Plus Cleveland is on a mean heater right now...they have to be due for a confusing loss soon.

NYK +8 vs TOR

First off I owe Kristaps Porzingis's family and friends an apology. I thought he was going to be terrible. I really never expected him to do much of anything at all in the league and figured he would be back in Europe come February. Today he is averaging 12 and 9!! And looks like he legitimately belongs in an NBA rotation. So in honor of the Zinger...I'm taking the Knicks tonight.

MIN +2 vs CHA

Weird line alert!! Wolves are clearly the better team which is a line no one would have said at the beginning of the season. Wiggins is playing at a very high level, coming off of back to back 30 point games and the rest of the team is playing up to their potential. They have beaten legitimate good teams, don't be surprised if this one isn't even close.

NBA ECF

ATL (+1) vs. CLE

You know how LeBron does things. It usually takes him a game to get warmed up and get a good feel for what the other team is trying to do. This is his feel out game. Throw in that the Hawks will be hosting their first ever home game in the Eastern conference finals and you can see why this is a solid points grab. I expect the Cavs to win this series in six games, possibly even five depending on how game 2 goes...but don't be surprised if the Hawks take a game or two early to give the talking heads of the world something to pontificate on over the next few weeks.

Monday Muggle Madness!

NBA RECORD: 19-13

CATZ:

TAKE THE POINTS!!!

NO (+6) vs. CLE
Still don't trust the Cavs until they can put a week's worth of solid games together. Plus Anthony Davis is going to have a field day against the front line of Love and Varejo.

DET (+9) vs, CHI
If I have said it once, I've said it a million times, the Bulls just do not blow people out of the water. It doesn't happen, and giving the notorious SVG 9 points is basically like spitting in his face.

SAS (+2.5) vs. LAC
Spurs getting points? Too easy Vegas, step your game up next time.

Free NBA Picks!

Catz's Quick Hitz
Last night was a pretty successful night going 4-2 with the only two losses coming on my weakest pick the dreaded over/under. As the old saying goes though when Josh Smith sits out against his former team and causes the total to go under, you have to bet right back on the Pistons! Also because the NBA season is almost over I decided to throw a pick on every game out there because once it's gone, it's gone (at least until next October). Have fun with these and remember just bet the opposite on my over/unders and you will soon be richer than Ole Uncle Moneybags Scrooge McDuck.
